Ordering
Do you do loose loads?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer loose loads.
Delivery & access
How big are the delivery lorries?
We use relatively small delivery trucks to enable us to access most customer driveways. The trucks weigh 7.5 tonnes and are approximately the size of a Tesco home-delivery van, perhaps a touch bigger. We also have an even smaller truck which you can call and make a special request for.
Do you deliver to allotments?
Yes, we frequently deliver to allotments, provided our small-sized truck can fit in the designated area.
Can you deliver over hedges, fences or walls?
While we occasionally deliver over fences and hedges, every job is different and our driver will assess the situation on arrival. Please call us if you would like to discuss the access before ordering.
Do I need to be home during delivery?
No, you do not need to be home for delivery. Give us a call and specify the exact safe location for drop-off, and we will do our best to fulfil your request.
Can I collect the topsoil with my van?
Our yard is not open to the public for collection due to rental agreements, so unfortunately collections are not available.
Products & quantities
How big are the bulk bags?
The bags measure approximately 0.85 metres by 0.85 metres by 0.85 metres and are also known as standard-sized builders’ bulk bags.
Do the bags weigh a ton?
No. Each product has a different weight; compost and bark are lighter than soil. Topsoil is the closest to a tonne at around 800kg.
Which topsoil is best for flower beds or vegetable patches?
Our Planting Loam Topsoil is the best choice for planting in flower beds or vegetable patches.
What's the difference between Planting Loam and Economy Topsoil?
Planting Loam is more nutrient-rich, fertile and clean. Economy topsoil is sandier, less fertile and may contain small stones.
How many bulk bags of topsoil, bark or compost do I need for my garden?
If you know the measurements of the area, call us with its length, width and required depth. We will calculate the quantity you need and promptly call you back.
